Meditation Research & Its Benefits
On behalf of Inner8 a professional research study was conducted by Loughborough University based the iNet Programme. The report shows that a short-sustained practice of meditation has positive effects on mental health, to include but not limited to better concentration, improved decisions under pressure, clear strategic decision making and enhanced relationships with co-workers.
Specifically, the study looked at how meditation has positive impacts on the brain. It was found that it is no new phenomena that through mindful practices such as meditation one can change the way the brain is wired, hence having a positive influence on the way people think and respond to certain situations. In many cases only 10-15 minutes of meditation on a regular basis would enhance the mood of individuals, reducing feelings of anxiety, anger, depression, fatigue, and confusion.
Further studies highlighted the positive impacts of meditation specifically for Managers and Leaders, and how it enhanced task performance. Leadership is a skill that can be developed and learnt, and so it is even more crucial that one’s mental health as a leader is at the forefront of any leader’s toolkit.
It is also clear that our understanding of what meditation is has improved over the years. It has now become a popular choice for those looking to bring deeper insight and clarity to their work and personal life. Managers and Leaders who value these benefits and practice regularly can be at a competitive edge over those who may not necessarily prioritise its value.
In conclusion our research confirmed to us what we already know. We are extremely happy that today meditation is practiced widely by millions of people around the globe, and hope Inner8 can support you with any of your Meditation needs.
